Sensei Patty Blakesley started training on Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts in 1996 when she and her son wanted more physical exercise.
She soon realized that for her it became a practice, exercising her body and her mind as well as developing her spirit. “To say that karate has becomemy way of life is understatement,” she states. In the words of Grand Master, Shoshin Nagamine, “…karate is a life long marathon, which can be won only through self-discipline, hard training and your own creative efforts.”
Sensei Patty earned her Sandan (3rd degree black belt) in 2013. That year she also was named Student of the Year by the WSKF (World Shorin Ryu Karate Federation). In 2009 she was certified by the WSKF to teach karate as an assistant instructor. She lives in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin and happily travels to Goho Seishin Dojo.
Sensei Patty is an author, a student of natural horsemanship, a hiker, an avid birdwatcher and enjoys being outdoors as much as possible. She is also a certified Passion Test Facilitator, working with individuals to support them in aligning their life with their passions. She has recently been certified as Passion Test Facilitator for Business to support business to increase their profits and their pleasure.
